Marlo

A successful foster

About

We call fosterers that choose to adopt their foster dogs 'successful fosters'. We think it's something to be celebrated.

Here's Marlos story told by his new mum.

It was a Sunday afternoon in July when I took Marlo into foster.

I brought him home to stay with my two, ten year old Chihuahuas, Rex and Poppy. I expected at least a bit of shouting and showing off from one of them. There wasn't a peep. Just some excited greetings and Marlo went off to explore. I knew then that there was something special about this little guy.

Over the following weeks, Marlo slowly started to come out of his shell and show us his sparkly character. He was very anxious on walks to begin with, even making an escape one evening and running back home.

I'm so glad he had quickly learnt where we lived!

Rex and Poppy helped to build his confidence though and he now loves every adventure. He's been to the beach, the woods and the park. His favourite seems to be the park, lots of things to smell.

I was asked to write a profile for Marlo for the website to advertise him for adoption. At that point I knew I couldn't let the little guy go. He had settled in so well, made friends with Rex and Poppy and really won our hearts.

So he's staying.

We have now officially adopted Marlo. He has had his first family holiday in Wales and we are all looking forward to many more adventures to come.
