Our Mission
We are dedicated to relieving the suffering and distress of Chihuahuas in need of rehoming due to changes in circumstances, hardship, neglect or owner's ill health.
Our History
Our Rescue was established in 1988 and gained recognition as a registered charity (number 1094417) in 2002. We are managed by a board of trustees and staffed entirely by volunteers, with no paid employees.
Our Commitment to You
We are committed to creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment for all. We strive to ensure that everyone is respected and valued regardless of their race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, abilities, disabilities or any other factor. We are dedicated to creating an environment where everyone can be their authentic selves and thrive.
What We Do
- Veterinary Care: Veterinary treatment is our most significant expense. Many Chihuahuas that come into our care require treatments costing over £500 before they can be adopted.
- Support for Elderly Dogs: Many of the dogs we rehome are elderly and need ongoing medication, such as heart tablets. We can assist with these costs post-adoption to ensure that our Chihuahuas receive the care they need without placing undue financial strain on their new families. This support is determined on a case-by-case basis.
How You Can Help
As a volunteer-driven charity, we rely on the generosity and support of the community to continue our work. Contributions in any form, whether financial, your time and expertise, or resources, are deeply appreciated and vital to our mission.
