Hello, my name is Rocky.
I’m 5 years old. I’ve been living with my foster mum for 4.5 months.
My foster mum tells me I’m a very special boy. I’m energetic and love my walks, but I feel safest staying on my lead as I can sometimes get worried by other dogs and might bark if I’m unsure. Because of that, my recall isn’t reliable just yet, so lead walks and safe, secure spaces suit me best.
I’m also an excellent little guard dog and will always let you know if there are loud noises or anything unusual outside. I take my home security duties very seriously and I have a very impressive bark to prove it!
I am super cuddly and I’m looking for a home where I won’t be left for long, as I really love being close to my person. I’ll happily follow you around like a little shadow and keep you company all day. I do get worried if I’m left on my own, but I’m always overjoyed when my humans come back. My ideal home would be somewhere with someone around most of the time, or with people who are happy to take me out and about with them. I’m very well behaved in cafés and I travel beautifully in the car too.
I would prefer to be the only dog in the home so I can have all the love and attention to myself. I can feel a bit competitive around other dogs when it comes to humans, toys or treats, so I’ll thrive as your one-and-only best friend.
I absolutely love my food! When I first arrived, I was underweight, but I’ve enjoyed my meals very much and I’m now looking fabulous. You might just need to help me keep to a sensible diet so I stay at my perfect weight. My fur has grown fluffy and bushy and, if I do say so myself, my ears are definitely my best feature.
I have epilepsy, which means I take medication twice a day (morning and night). It’s just a small amount of liquid mixed into my food – I don’t even notice it. I’ve been seizure-free the whole time I’ve been with my foster mum, which is wonderful news.
At night, I love to sleep in the bedroom with my humans. I enjoy snuggling on top of the bed (under the covers isn’t really my thing) and sometimes I’ll choose to hop down into my own bed on the floor if I fancy a change. I just like to know my people are close by. I’m not a big fan of being alone in the dark, so I’ll need to sleep in the same room as you.
I’m fully toilet trained and very polite about letting you know when I need to go out. If you miss my first signal, don’t worry, I’ll give you a little bark reminder.
