Hello, I’m Barney.
I’m a 5 year old long bodied little lad (possibly a Jack Russell/Dachshund mix. I’m basically a low-rider with personality!) and I’ve just arrived in my foster home.
So far I’ve been called sweet, gentle, funny, and ridiculously cute, especially when my floppy ears tip backwards when I sit up for treats. It’s a whole look you know.
I’m toilet trained, I sleep through the night in my crate with no fuss, and I’m eating really well. I’ve settled in beautifully with my foster family and absolutely love people. I greet everyone like they’re my long-lost friend. I’m also brilliant with my foster’s 11 year old daughter. She adores me and the feeling is mutual.
I am living with a dog at my foster family's and we’re getting on great. On walks, I can be a bit reactive to other dogs, but my fosterer is already helping me learn that the world is a safe place and mostly full of fun. With time, patience, and positive reward based training, I’ll continue to improve.
I’ve lived with other dogs before aswell and I think I’d really enjoy a home with a friendly resident dog, or a home where people are around a lot. I love company and I thrive when I feel part of things.
Health wise, I’m neutered, in good condition, and have started my flea and worm treatment. My vaccinations are being restarted this week too, so I’ll be all up to date.
Most importantly I’m a kind, loving soul who just wants to be someone’s little shadow, a small boy who brings warmth, humour, and those hilarious backward-flopping ears to your life.
