Hello, I’m Minnie
I’m 9 years old and have been in foster for a little while now, getting used to life in a safe, loving home. I’m a very nervous and anxious little girl.
I don’t like being picked up and will yelp if I’m scared. Please don’t chase me or try to rush me, I’ll come to you when I feel safe. I’m already starting to show my sweet side. I love belly rubs, gentle head scratches, and quiet encouragement. Once I trust you, I’ll be your little shadow.
I’m currently living with other dogs and I get along with them just fine, especially when they give me space. One of them (we won’t name names... Cheech) tries to steal my food sometimes, but I don’t make a fuss. I’ve shown no aggression over food or treats, though I do let out the odd grumble when I’m feeling a bit grumpy.
I haven’t been out walking yet, as I’m still building my confidence before trying on a harness. But my foster mum says there’s no rush, she’s going at my pace, and I’m so grateful for that.
Healthwise, I’ve been spayed and my vaccinations are up to date. I will need a dental soon, as my teeth aren’t in the best shape. And just so you know, vet visits really scare me, so I’ll need someone who can help me feel safe and supported through them.
Because I can be a little skittish, I’m looking for an adult only home with a calm environment and gentle people who truly understand what nervous dogs need.
I know I might not be the easiest match at first glance, but please don’t overlook me. I’m a sensitive soul with so much love to give. I just need the right person who’ll meet me where I am and walk patiently beside me as I learn to trust again.
