Hello, my name's Chunky.
I like life's simple pleasures. I like a stroll by the sea, cuddles on the sofa and getting to know people at my own pace.
When we first meet, I might seem a little shy. I'm not one to rush into new friendships, but if you'll give me a little time, you'll soon discover a sweet, affectionate little companion who loves being close to his people. Once I know you, I'm happiest curled up beside you, enjoying plenty of fuss and, if you're offering, a good belly rub.
I've been living happily with another male Chihuahua, so I'd be very happy to share my home with a friendly, well-matched canine companion. Equally, I'd be just as content as an only dog, provided I have lots of love, companionship and someone to spend time with.
I really enjoy getting out for walks and I'm good on the lead. I can find unfamiliar dogs a little worrying though, especially if they get too close, and I'll bark to ask them for a bit more space. I wear an "I Need Space" lead to help other people understand this, and I'm looking for an experienced adopter who'll continue helping me build confidence using kind, positive training. The good news is that I have a lovely recall in the garden and always come back happily when I'm called.
When it's time to relax, I'm easy-going and happy sleeping in or out of a crate. I do find my crate comforting and will often choose to settle there all by myself.
Toys don't really do much for me, but belly rubs are another story! I also rather enjoy the occasional trip to the groomers. A tidy up and a bit of pampering? Now that's something I can definitely get behind.
