About
Hi, I'm Charlie
I came to the rescue as my owner had to go into a home. I was very scared at first, but I have steadily gained in confidence with my foster parents help.
I can still be nervous with new people and in some situations, so I need you to be patient and kind with me. I am getting better all the time and my foster mum says I am making excellent progress.
I love having my harness on and going for walks. One minute I'm trotting along as fast as I can with my little waggy tail. Next minute I like to take my time to sniff at the many interesting smells. Walkies are easily my favourite thing.
I was an only dog before, but have been learning to be part of a pack. I let the other dogs know if they crowd me too much and I like to remind my foster mum that I'm there by pawing her arm.
I am food reactive, so this will need to be managed in my adoptive home. I have not been tested with small children but I think I would prefer a home without them. I can be a bit of a barker as I have to keep my house safe.
I am perfectly house trained.
I love sitting with my foster parents having cuddles. I'd definitely like more of that.
Recently I had a dental and leg check at the vets. Most of my teeth had to be removed so I only have one left now. I still love my food and treats though, the softer the better for a while. The vet checked my hind legs too and said I have luxating patella in both of them. This can sometimes make my walk look a bit funny but I'm OK as it doesn't hurt.
Please give me a wonderful home.
Love Charlie x
