Hi, I’m Mario.
I’m seven years old. My old owners loved me, but had to leave me at home all day for work, which made me sad, so they decided to rehome me so I can be happier.
I’m a little bit nervous and wary at first, but I am very loving and will soon be cuddled up next to you on the sofa or rolling over for belly rubs.
I’m currently on a weight loss regime. I’m really fluffy which hides it well, but once you pick me up you’ll definitely find I'm a bit chunky. My foster mums have put me on some new food and I am slowly losing the pounds.
Foster mums say I'm a funny little man. They call me a truffle pig because I snort and grunt when I’m walking around and sniffing. I can be a little grumpy, especially when I’m tired or worried. As I begin to trust people, I get less grumpy. I’ve always been an only dog but don’t mind other dogs when I’m out and about. I could maybe live with another calm dog if we get along.
I like to lounge and sleep a lot. I’m getting more confident on walks each day. I can be left alone for a few hours and will just snooze, although I obviously prefer being with my people.
I’m fully house trained. I am a little bit rusty with some of my training cues, but I love treats and am getting back up to speed quickly. My old owners said I’m good with the groomers too, which is good considering I am so fluffy.
