Hi, I’m Petal
I’m Petal, a 9 month old Chihuahua x Yorkshire Terrier – some people call me a Chorkie.
I’m a beautiful, timid little girl and the world can still feel like a very big place to me. I’m not used to lots of people, traffic or unfamiliar noises, and I can be frightened when someone I don’t know approaches me. Sometimes I’ll growl to let them know I’m worried, but once I feel safe and get to know you, I have a very affectionate side and give lots of kisses.
I love being close to my person and like to know where they are pretty much all the time. Even when I’m asleep, my little ears are listening. I love morning cuddles, followed by some playtime and then breakfast - when I’m ready for it. I’m a lady of leisure and I do like to eat in my own time.
I’m still very young and have lots to learn about the wider world. I’ll need someone patient who is prepared to help me build my confidence and work with me on my training, including helping me become more comfortable around people, everyday life and spending time on my own.
I’m being fostered in Derbyshire, and my future family will need to attend two meet and greets where I’m being fostered, so please bear this in mind if you live further afield.
I may need a little more time and work than some young dogs, but for the right person, helping me discover that the world can be a safe and happy place could be incredibly rewarding.
