About

Hello, I’m Ozzie.

I’m nine years old and currently living with my foster family in Kent.

I’m a rather handsome little chap with a few ideas about how I like things to be done.

Take dinner, for example. Bowls aren’t really my thing, so I prefer mine served on an IKEA chopping board. I’m also not entirely convinced by corners when I’m out walking. Sometimes I’ll go around them. Sometimes I’ll stop and wait to be carried around. And if I don’t fancy the direction you’ve chosen, I’m quite capable of letting you know.

I know what I like.

I’m actually a very gentle, sensitive boy. New people can make me nervous and I need time and space to work things out for myself. Please don’t rush me into being friends. If you let me come to you when I’m ready, I’ll gradually start to trust you and show you much more of myself.

Once I’m comfortable, I love being close to my people. I enjoy cuddles, curling up on the sofa and burrowing under blankets – preferably with just my nose sticking out. I particularly seem to like men, although I can form lovely relationships with women too.

I enjoy getting out and about and I’m a big fan of the beach. I like a couple of walks each day, although they don’t need to be huge adventures. At home, I enjoy pottering around the garden and keeping an eye on the local wildlife.

I’m looking for a quiet, adult-only home with one or two people and someone who understands Chihuahuas. I need a secure garden and I’d rather not live somewhere with lots of people coming and going.

I can be left for an hour or two once I’m settled.

I can be reactive when I see other dogs out and about, although my fosterer says this is manageable with reassurance and gentle redirection. I’m looking to be the only pet in my new home, so no other dogs or cats for me.

I’m currently a little overweight, so my new family will need to help me continue working towards a healthier weight. I also need daily eye drops, which I’m very good about having.

I don’t need a terribly exciting life. I’m looking for someone patient and kind who will give me time to feel safe, learn my little ways and accept that occasionally we may have differing opinions about the route of a walk.

If you think you could work with that, I’m willing to consider your proposal.

I’m fostered in DA10 and you’ll need to be able to travel to meet me.

Lots of love
Ozzie
